Fundraising got off to a great start with Connor Pooles running the London Marathon in a fantastic 4h 28m, what an achievement.
At Trent Lock Golf and Country Club, we’re proud to do more than just offer an exceptional golfing and leisure experience—we’re also deeply committed to giving back to our local community. Throughout the year, Club Captain – Paul Warner and the Committee have scheduled a number of exciting events with one clear goal: to raise essential funds in support of a vital charity dedicated to older people, their families, and carers across Derbyshire.
We understand how important these services are, and we’re honoured to play a part in ensuring they continue to make a difference.
Here’s just some of the incredible work this charity does:
- Countywide Support Services: Including Information and Signposting, Attendance Allowance guidance, and a mobile Information Roadshow that brings advice directly to communities.
- Footcare Clinics: The “Tootsies” service offers toenail trimming and hard skin removal at multiple locations, helping people stay mobile and pain-free.
- Falls Prevention: Through the Live Stronger for Longer initiative, older people receive the support they need to stay active, maintain strength and balance, and reduce the risk of falls.
- Local Hubs and Shops: The charity runs 11 shops, several day centres, and a vibrant community hub at the Chaddesden Park Centre, where older residents can enjoy lunch clubs and social activities.
Every ticket purchased, every raffle entered, and every donation made at our events helps to keep these crucial services running.
